ABOUT KESTERFEST & KAMPA
What is the festival?
Sponsored by KAMPA, the World Music & Art Festival, a.k.a. Kesterfest, is Kester Avenue Elementary’s biggest fundraising event of the year. It’s a day of games and fun, great food, live performances, local vendors, a silent auction—in short, a great opportunity to connect with the Kester community and the surrounding neighborhood!
What is the purpose of the festival?
State and LAUSD budget cuts have severely reduced the educational opportunities that public school children receive outside of core curriculum areas. The festival was created 10 years ago to help ensure that enrichment such as art, P.E., music, and science would not disappear from the Kester curriculum. Proceeds from the 2016 festival will be dedicated to ensuring all Kester students receive arts education.
Who does the festival benefit?
All 1,000+ students at the combined campus of Kester Avenue Elementary and Kester Avenue Gifted/High Ability Magnet benefit from your participation in our advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Kester is a California Distinguished School, as well as having an API of 913, and we strive hard to deliver a top-notch education to all of our students. We thank you in advance for helping to promote creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking among our students through the medium of arts education!
Kester Avenue Magnet Parent Association (KAMPA) was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1990 by a dedicated group of parents to provide more enrichment opportunities for the gifted and high ability students at Kester Avenue Magnet. In 2006, KAMPA began sponsoring Kester’s World Music & Art Festival to raise funds for enrichment programs that benefit the entire student body of Kester Avenue Elementary and Kester Magnet Elementary.
KAMPA’s Non-Profit Tax ID Number is: 95-4190303.
KAMPA is committed to inspiring students to achieve their greatest potential by providing enrichment programs that broaden their intellectual, artistic, physical, and personal growth during their primary educative years. We believe that active parent, teacher, and community involvement are necessary to ensure student success.
